my 99 max has a moldy smell from a/c. there is a way to stop it with lysol spray somewhere, any one know details?

Think there is a thread in Detailing. I would clean you fan if I were you. It always has condensation on it and will attract mold or bacteria.

 

Spray lysol in the vents at the bottom of the windshield. If you comes back you probably have a clogged up AC drain hose.

 

I have the same problem. The smell goes away after a few minutes for me though (or maybe I just get used to it). It comes when I first turn the A/C on and if I leave the vent on and turn the A/C off. Never gave much thought to it though. It's been that way since I got the car.

 

Its been 4 days since ive done this and its still smelling nice when I have the a/c on.

 

thers a spray besides lysol specially made for this, i think you can get it at pepboys, but it sgotta sit overnight.

any special technique for spraying it in there? like how close to hold the spray and what not?

 

When you are about a couple of mins from your destination, turn teh AC off. that way it has time to evaporate the moisture that is left in the vents. SOmetimes, you can blast the heat to get it going. that way the moisture does not mould up and make it stinky.
