Fed spec Y on a Cali spec max?

Can you put a fed spec y pipe on a cali spec car? If so, how would you go about doing this?

Its not worth it for the cost and very minimal gains. Just buy a Cali-spec Y-pipe and call it a day.

I bought a used warpspeed y pipe but I didn't realize i have a cali spec maxima. I looked on the warpspeed website and it shows the same part # for fed/ca spec. Does this mean that the y pipe will fit??

it will fit, but you will be left with an extra o2 sensor bung because the fed spec has an o2 sensor on the cat, and i dont think the cali spec has one.

I think there's actually a difference in the pipe shape since it only removes 1 precat

i recently ordered mine from warpseed and i was told the fed and cali spec for the 97 were the same. Just installed it and it fits fine even tho the pipe was marked fed and I have cali spec. But im not sure if this applies to other years.

Also kinda off topic but for some reason I am not allowed to post new threads. Anyone know why? Anyways I just installed my ypipe and I accidentally broke the wire/washer thing that connects to one of the two bolts that connect the ypipe to the catalytic converter. Anyone know what this is for? Also i notice now when I'm at WOT my speakers will make some static noise and its kinda annoying. Anyone else have this problem?
