Fuel injection cleaner??

I keep seeing all of these good looking bottles in strauss and other auto stores that seem to give good results. Are these really worth it? Particularly, i'm talking about the fuel injection cleaner bottle... should I get it? What should I buy out of these types of things?

Thanks

Use Lucas oil's. Their fuel injector cleaner works great, fuel efficiency wise. But you cant put fuel injector cleaner in on a full tank, if wont do anything. Pour 50ml in on half a tank and then youll see and feel a difference.

i believe that is what made my car die. my car back in december of '04 started studdering and all sorts of **** it was because my fuel injectors were goin crazy. took it too a family mechanic. he said vq engines do not respond well to additives. cost me, well... cost my parents over $2600

Give it a shot, but don't get your hopes or wallet wrapped up in it. Come to think of it, I have a bottle in the garage that I outta dump into my Max.

Lucas products are generally regarded as a good choice - many other products are mostly glitz and not much guts.

I've used Chevron techron with good results. Best results - do this: Dump the bottle in a nealy empty tank and fill up with no more than 10 gallons. I saw a noticable increase in throttle response.

I can't recommend this enough. I've sold countless bottles to local customers with never any negative feedback. I use it regularly as well.

I have used Berrymans B12 Fuel Injector Cleaner consistently for the past two yrs.. never had any harm done to my engine in result of it either.. and i always thought that my car stayed clean and ran well due to it.. then the other day my friend told me about SeaFoam.. you suck it up using one of your vacuum lines and then let it sit there and it foams up inside your intake manifold and cleans all the carbon builld up and gunk out.. and you can also run it through your gas for a fuel injector/pump cleaning.. and honestly i have never used something that worked so well.. seriously my car runs a whole lot better.. it improved idle and pickup now is awesome.. overall it helped out alot.. i would definately recommend this to anyone.. its the best $4-5 ive spent on my car..

Chevron Cleaner

A mechanic friend said to buy the Chevron (with Tecron) brand sold at Costco. They sell a box of four bottles for about $12. Put two bottles into a full tank.

I just read on the link to BITOG that Chevron Techron should be used every 7,500 miles, which would equate to just before every 2nd oil change. My local stealership uses BG02, a two-step fuel additive (a cleaner & a moisture remover ) that they recommend once a year or every 15k.

but if you change your oil every 3000 like me wouldn't it be before every 2nd oil change

Does changing the oil at around 3000 make a difference...it seems like if I do it every 3500-4000 miles there wont be a difference..am I wrong?

Changing oil every 3,000 miles is overkill unless the car sits for extended periods of time and is used primarily for short trips where the engine doesn't properly warm right up. If none of the above applies, you are wasting your money changing oil that often.

You can take that up with Lucas. I don't know if you can call that a accurate testing. But anyway I don' work for Lucas, don't Owen their stock. I was giving my honest opinion on one of their product. it worked for me, do not listen to what i said. DO NOT Buy lucas.
Thank you for the link though.
