The obx has a lot of drone @ cruising speed without a silencer installed. It sounds a lot like most ricey accords and civics, but not quite as bad.

Do you have any firsthand experience with this exhaust?

I've had mine for 2 years now, and I compare it to a slightly louder Greddy Sp2. It's does NOT sound like accords and civics.

I've got both Budget Y and B (with Magnaflow resonator) pipes and stock muffler. Nice growl and yet almost stock. A straight-through muffler would be a mistake if you want stock quiet levels.

Hi, do you have the headers/ypipe from ebAy? I heard they dont fit perfectly nor the exhaust. Is this true?

the headers fit perfect you just need to cut your motor mounts a lil for them to fit since they are alot bigger then stock. As far as the exhaust no problems with the fitment.I bought them from obx direct not from ebay

Yes, I have an OBX catback on my car. I just thought it was to loud, but that was my opinion. Others like the sound. Granted, it does sound better behind a Nissan V6 than anything does behaind a Honda 4cyl.

the price is the main difference o ya and the greddy will fit perfectly unlike the OBX which cost me another $100 to get it to fit almost perfect, I believe the OBX is known to be a louder exhaust for the max than mos, but sounds nothing like a riced out civic or 4cyl, sounds more like a 300ZX, Supra, etc just a little louder than I would like.

It seems that guys on here either like aftermarket exhausts, or they don't. Sounds like you could be an Apex'i WS fan. Also, are you automatic or manual?

And on a side note, if my car sounded anything like a honda, I'd take a one way trip to the incinerator.

I personally have the OBX Type-H. THe muffler with this catback is straight through, and it's just loud enough under load to set off sensitive car alarms (I know because when I drive up the parking ramp in my parking garage I'll hear the occasionally alarm go off. But I'm paired up with a Y-Pipe as well. In my opinion, I just wanted an exhaust to replace my rusted one and for $260 shipped I got what I wanted as a poor college student. To me, I can't justify another $200-300 for a GReddy when you'd like to save that money for something else.

I've had both a greddy sp1 and an sp2, I loved both of them. Even though some off brands are cheaper, greddy just makes a solid exhaust that not only sounds good, but also looks and feels good. I've had no experience with other exhaust systems, but from the five or so years that I've owned my greddy, its been worth every penny. I guess its really about choice. Good luck!

If your looking for a greddy, I believe there is only the SP2 available

As far as Greddy pipes, there was the SP, but that is no longer produced and has since been replaced by the SP2.

The OBX is loud....I know cause my buddy has one. The general comment on OBX mufflers is that their fitment is alil off, and also their quality. Some rust quicker than others, I've seen it with some of their other products. All I'm going to say is, if you're curious and still want to get it after other people say otherwise...GET IT! You will only learn from experience, my experience told me that most exhaust will sound deeper than stock. If an exhaust is known to be loud then get a BIGGER RESONATOR. I had a straight thru Maganflow, no resonator, and 2.5" piping form the cat to back and a y-pipe. It was LOUD, I now added a 22" resonator and it sounds deep....just the way I wanted it.

The OBX-H catback has 2 resonators on the b-pipe, with a glass-pack muffler. It's definitely not super loud, and will sound the same if not better than the magnaflow + b-pipe combo.
