no im pretty sure its shaped differently and also reverse lights are on botton on 97-99's

 

it has nothing to do with bumpers, the outter tails will fit, the inners will not, you will need the 97+ trunk to fit the inner tails.

the shape of the inner tails ar differemt, the dimensions of the lights. i have a 95 and did the 97 swap to fit the 97 lights. check my cardomain for a few pics.

 

Will a 97-99 trunk directly bolt onto a 95-96? Or do you need the rear bumper as well to go with it?

 

Its just the trunk lid. Everything bolts on. I have plans for 97-99 trunk lid & smoked 97-99 red/clears

 

yea just the lid, be warned tho, u may want to take the bottom latch from the 97+ car with you. when i installed my trunk lid, the stock latch on my 95 wasnot locking the lid shut when i closed it, i tried everything, even raising the latch up more. i went back and bought the new bottom latch from the same car i got the lid from and every thing locked perfectly.

buy the latch just in case, it should be only 15-20 bux and its worth it just in case the stock one doesnt work, u never know when u may run upon another 978+ latch.

 

There's a ton of 97+ maxima's with perfect condition rear ends just chilling at a junkyard I went to the other day so getting the trunk and latch should be nooo problem.

Now I just gotta find a place that has DP0 Nissan Paint to match the trunk to my car.

Ok here is how it is 95-96 trunks have a roll near the bottom of the trunk and that is also incorporated in the taillights and the innertails are a lil different in shape.
97-99 have no roll, it is a flat trunk, and the taillights are flat too.

What I dont get is how will changing the trunk lid from a 95/96 to a 97-99 get you to be able to use the red/clear tails when the amber part on the 95/96 isnt on the trunk, but on the outside set.

 

look at the red clears before you ask that question and it should answer itself.
