Hello,

what is the best way to extend a life span and lust of interior leather?

Eric from Leatherseats.com told me that I should dress the seats with a good leather care product at least once a month. I've been using Tanner's, but Meguyer's and others are just as good. Just use a lot and use it often.

I think I can speak for most people on the board by recommending Lexol. I recently got the cleaner and conditioner and I love the stuff. Its great.

Lexol does a great job in my experience too. But I would also get a product like Finish2000 that has good UV protection, and apply it to heavily exposed surfaces (like the tops of the rear seats). If you don't apply this at least every 6 months, you'll find your leather will get stiff and eventually crack.

I just wish this leather was the same quality as the kind found in BMW's. Did you ever sit in a leather covered 528i? It's absolutely amazing...

if i understand correctly, not all of the visible surface is real leather. some of it is vinyl. do you put the leather conditioner on everything? i think it would look funny if the leather part were shiny and soft, and the vinyl part wasnt......

Meguiar's Cleaner & Conditioner in One is good. I always do it about once every two weeks and I use it in generous amounts.

You are right, only the seating surfaces are leather. Some leather dressings (like Tanner's) indicate on the label that you should not use it on vinyl. I think the Mequiers is safe for vinyl, but don't take my word for it.
