For those with body kits...

Hey guys and girls,
I am interested in putting on the usual body styin products, stillen front lip, side skirts, and rear bumper. But i have some concerns that just came to mind. I was getting my tires rotated yesterday, and at LesSchwab, they have lifts that you drive up and over and then it lifts up the whole car. They don't have the lifts that have swing arms. Hard to explain, and no i don't have pics.
I guess my concern is, Has anyone had trouble with their kits while they are getting their cars worked on? Any damage occur?
sorry if it isn't too clear, maybe some one can help explain better.....

Thanks.

Some shops will tell you up front if they'll have problems with your car's body kits. Always ask in advance. There was one time something didn't clear properly and my side skirt flexed but nothing cracked, not even the paint.

The bottom of my Stillen lip is scraped to ****, but other than that no big deal. It's urethane so it will just bend, not crack, unless you do something real real nasty to it.

Yea, i know about scraping on road surfaces, i am concerned about when the car goes in the shop or gets worked on. Will i have trouble getting it worked on due to the kit? Or am i just worrying too much?

about getting ur car worked on......you basically have to lay down ramp(wood or whatever) and rive ur car onto the lift at a less extreme angle. If u do that u should have no problem. I have also found that going backwards works to(though most places dont like to do that)

the only problems i've had, is Midus busting out my neons after telling them 3 times to watch out for them, but when i was in my wreck, stillen kit was perfect until the tow truck got there then he rammed it under the front wheels of my car. the body shop says all they have to do is repaint...

haha welcome to my world...

my car isn't even dropped yet and it touches anything even slightly inclined.

i always take my car to wherever they have those arms that have the thing at the end so it'll lift up the car without touching my sideskirts.. oh and I can't get on those ramp lifts.

Just thought of another question related to this...

How much closer to the ground do the side skirts go from stock? I know ride height depends, i am on h&r springs. does anyone have that setup and would be willing to check. Thanks in advance. You people rock!

The side skirts probably add about 2 to 3 inches depending on the side skirts you get.

My side skirts ends about 1 inch below where the metal part is. (frame part where you would use your jacks to raise up the car) I think that's normal... so you get the idea..
