Handling O2 sensor

Replacing my Y-pipe last night, I ended up getting the O2 sensor socket tool stuck to my right (back) bank O2 sensor so I ended up buying a new sensor (Bosch Universal, EZ installation $55). There was Anti-Seize all over the O2 bung hole no matter how I stuck in the O2 sensor, I kept on getting Anti-Seize all over it. I would wipe the sensor down and I'm sure it didn't get inside the actual sensor.

This would be my first time handling an O2 sensor. I didn't do the most obvious thing and wipe off some of the Anti-seize and I fear that the new sensor is basically ruined. I reset the codes after the installation an only driven around a total of 30 mins. The code is still 0505.

I guess the point I'm trying to make here is whoever is installing a Y-pipe on his/her own, wipe down some of that Anti-Seize on the O2 bung first so it doesn't end up on the sensor.

Why? It won't damage it. I'm pretty sure that the seize is made to have a chemical reaction with the exhaust gasses and just burn off. BTW, driving the car for 30 minutes won't set off any codes, you have to drive it 2x for a certain distance to set off most codes.

Ok but you could go drive it for 5 minutes, turn the car off, wait a few seconds, turn it back on and drive. The code will pop up if there is one.
