Took out air/fuel mixture gauge and CEL

ok guys, when i had my air/fuel mixture gauge installed, i had no problem with CEL, but right after taking it out, my CEL came back on. I reseted the ecu it would turn off for about 3 days and come back on again. any ideas on why the CEL keeps coming back even after rewiring the wires back to how it was?

BTW, the air/fuel mixture gauge is tapped into one of the o2 sensor wires.

I'm guessing that having the gauge as a part of the circuit it added resistance and made the voltage/resistance be within spec of an operating 02 sensor. Taking the gauge out lessens the voltage/resistance and the readings are out of spec. Then again the readings from o2 sensors are so jumpy and inconsistent that it might just be a cold/bad connection.

It should not have triped a CEL by removing it. Check where the A/F gauge tapped into the o2 circuit. You might have disconnected the O2 wire from the ECU.

Maybe if you read the specific code of the diagnostic on the ecu it would narrow it down. You could just be looking in the wrong place.
