It is possible to remove the rear tint without removing defroster lines. Do a search for it.
As for the price, it depends in your local area. In PA, i've had it done for 150 w/lifetime warranty.

DIY. I did a search and it seems the quickest and most efficient way was to use a regular clothing steamer. save yourself some bucks.
A guy quoted me 200 bucks for just the back window. I couldn't stop laughing all the way out of the shop.

There is a REAL nice place by the Shea stadium where I have my car been done(By the way all my friends have done tint there and LOVE it , cause I saw different places do that and it was not that good), the whole car would be $160 and the guy asked my friend $20 extra for removing tint from front two windows so It would be around $200...But as I told you they do a REALLY good job!!NO scam or anything...By the way they give only 1 year warranty. As for defroster it would be ok if removed proffesionally..

The previous owner of my maxima tinted the back window and then screwed it up making it all purple and bubbled, and then he tried removing it with really crappy results, aka it just started tearing off in pieces so now there's some cleared areas and then screwed up tint all around the defroster lines. Anyone know a good way to remove tint of this situation?

is the tint faded or in bad shape??./ If not why take it off...just get a another layer of tint over top of the 35%..my buddy got 2 shades of 20% on his car and it looks darker than my 5%

the main reason i want to retint is because i feel its too light. i'd like it better if no1 could see inside. also, to make my decision a little easier, i was trying to clean all my windows with what was supposed to be a tint-safe cleanser, and instead it started to come off a bit. so in the sun you can see a streak where it is lighter than the rest of the tint on that window.

when i first got my max, i took it to a shop that mainly sells 23"s and up and does some tinting on the side. The sale was $85, but b/c i wanted the back a shade darker they charged $95, and i could have had the sun roof done for $105 total. the price includes a lifetime warranty
