i once raced with that generation of mustang 2 on highway. i easily took him off my way. that generation is the worst one. the new one is faster now for sure. and i dun think my 99 max can beat it up now

former mustang owner

I can vouch for the sluggishness of the 95 - 98 'Stang GT's. The new versions are a different story be careful with them. Lots of stealth mods possible.

yeah, the 5 spds are a good bit quicker. To get the most out of them, the driver has to know what he's doing. I just got rid of my '96, so I'm speaking from experience. I don't know about other areas, but it's hit or miss in MD, where I'm from, about what you're racing. A lot of the people with 6's are putting fake duals on and a lot of the Cobra owners are going stealth to appear llike a stock GT.

What about the SVT Mustang? How does it stand with the stock Max? Would an SC'ed Max do the job?

You'd need a supercharger and a slew of other mods to beat a Cobra(SVT). That is if the Cobra is stock.
