Maxima 95 Code 1008 (California Emissions)
The dealer wants $ 251.00 for EVAP canister purge volume control valve.
I’ve noticed that people who had the same problem were able to get it for $140 -$150. Where?
What is the part number/numbers?
Appreciate your help in advance!

 

Reply I received from Courtesy Nissan.

That part is upgraded from the one you have,
it comes with new hoses and a bracket, I do have to order one of the
hoses in and it will take me a few days to get it here, all of the parts
combined are $178.09.

holy crap. i was able to buy the box and valve as seperate items about 2 years for less than $100. I have a CA emissions car as well, but when i ordered the parts, i didn't specify that - don't know if it makes a difference or not.

 

Apparently there are no alternatives, ether you by from Dealer or Courtesy Nissan Parts. This particular part is not something everybody needs (like O2 sensors or spark plugs).

Call them up and have your VIN # handy so they can tell you exactly what part you need.

 

i have that code.. and the dealer told me i needed a purge control valve...

is this at the rear of the car close to the fuel tank..

if so the dealer priced me at 75 bucks..
