Need Help!

I need to know what goes into the little bottle under the hood in the Passenger side of the car.On the side of the bottle you could read cold min, cold max,hot min, and hot max. I looked under the hood today and saw that the bottle was running low. I need the help of the org. because i dont have a car manual to get the information. Your help would be appreciated
Thanks

Anti freeze, and if it's empty you better check your radiator as well

I believe it's your power steering reservoir. It might not hurt to flush the p.s. reservoir if you don't think its ever been done.

Its probably best to check the fluid level when the engine hasn't been running for quite some time, since the fluid level varies depending on whether it is hot or cold. Fill the fluid up to between the cold min and cold max. It helps to use a funnel.

Do not use brake fluid to fill it. If you do I understand its not fatal. Use of Dextron III automatic transmission fluid is recommended.

Whatever you do: NEVER put automatic transmission fluid in your brake reservoir.

I suggest you get a Haynes repair manual for your Maxima. It covers years 1993 to 2001 and is relatively inexpensive. It will serve as an invaluable reference tool for the maintenance of your Max.

I just told you to use Dextron III automatic transmission fluid which is what the owner's manual and the Haynes manual calls for. You won't find anything called power steering oil as it doesn't exist. Now go out and buy a Haynes manual right away and read the FAQs.
