Why is this happening!!! Help please

Well i was driving today and decided to go WOT, My car is lagging, i say it took atleast 3 seconds for the engine to respond. It feels like I have no torque either.
I just swapped out my plugs for some ngk coppers, cleaned out the TB with some carb cleaner, and before(like a week ago) the response time was BEA.utiful. I dont know what it could be, theres no codes commin up or nothin. I always use 93 oct @ mobil. I have 65kmiles and always baby my car

well ive Got a few ques.
1. anybody know how to diagnose your auto trans?
2. And a few days ago I put my stock muffler back on also, could this be the problem(i highly doubt it is)?
(I have a full header back)
3. What could it be?

just some small things... from an amateur

Does this always happen? or it's off an on?
Do you have a custom air intake?

Edit:

if it's off and on, and you have a custom intake, it might be the air filter.
Also, it might be the MAF. Try taking the air filter out. start the car and rev the engine a couple shots... let it idle for a few minutes.

Next, clean the maf sensor very carefully with a moist qtip... be gentle... put back together and take it for a drive...

see if this helps

Note: The advice given above is based on my experience with lag lately...

when brought to the dealership, they hit my maf sensor lightly with a screw driver and then reved my engine with the Amsoil air filter in it... my problems went away.... I have 100% throttle feedback!

so i got home, cleaned my maf sensor carefully and felt like my response was just a tad faster. Maybe the maf sensor was able to read the air intake quicker and more accuratly... I dunno

it was almost 90* out there today, ever heard or heat soak? The engine doesn't run as good when the air is so damn hot and humid.

You sure you didn't get any oil in the MAF? Try cleaning it, also check your codes for the Knock Sensor, you never know with that thing.

It is probably the heat, about week ago it was in the 50's and now it is in the 80's.
