electrical/battery question from problem
electrical/battery question from problem
I aplogize in advance for the amount of details I'm about to give but I think it's necessary.
This past weekend I was pulling out of my driveway and the car died. I noticed that after I pulled away there was a high pitch whine coming from my radio when accelerating. I also noticed the clock getting bright when I accelerated and when cruising it would be dimmer and flicker. I shut off the auto climate control and it seemed to stop. It didn't seem to do it in econ.
Sunday, next morning, had a hard time keeping it running when I went to move it in the driveway.
Sunday night I went out to take a look at it. It ran fine, no problems.
Monday all day no problems to work, lunch, here, there no problems.
Tuesday, no problems most of the day, coming home from work the whine comes back. I shut off the climate control completely, still there. The clock and radio start flickering dim/bright. A couple of times the front speaker cut out for a few seconds. I get home and shut it off. I hit the locks and hear fast clicking and the nothing. I open the door and it's dead, no sign of any electricity.
I got a new battery this morning and replaced the old one. It starts right up no problem. I got to work with no signs of anything.
My question is, could it just have been the battery or do the things I've mentioned above make anyone think the battery was just a casualty of something else.
Thanks for reading through and any input is greatly appreciated.

I'll have to check it. The alternator was replaced under the recall about a year and a half ago. Of course out of Nissan's 12mo/12,000 mile parts warranty. The car goes 90K with no alternator trouble, I get it replaced under the recall and it probably just went, now that it's out of warranty.
