squeaking noise from suspension?

i can hear squeaking noises from my passenger side suspension, sounds rubber rubbing on metal kind of squeaking, im on maxspeeds and gr2s... does this have anything to do with the bump stops? also, under the hood, i noticed that the same side top strut bolt is sticking out higher than the drivers side...

if the bolt on your strut mount is higher than the other, that means your strut mount holes have enlarged and a replacement is needed, the noise you hear is the bolt going up and down the enlarged hole which is getting bigger everytime you hear the noise, you should replace immediately or else you might put the strut through your hood. i recommend getting OEM strut mounts, dont go with the KYB crap, last not even 1/3 the time as OEM.

RE: Same noise

BTW, I have the same, exact noise (and started a thread in the I30 forum about it).

It is, indeed, the front strut bearing -- a very, cheap part with a big repair cost!

BTW, I have not had the repair done yet, but, I removed my FSTB to see if the noise level would go down, and it did. Some may say it shouldn't make a difference, but in my I30, it did.

Of course, I still need to get it fixed.. :-(

Check out the thread, "Why are my springs making noise?"

I think it is the same problem as what we discussed here.
