Looking to replace exhaust system

I had a problem with my e-brake where it froze up on me and I need to replace it so I thought now is a good time to replace my exhaust system. I am looking to replace from the Y pipe on out. I was looking at Warpspeeds $595 2 1/2" complete system and wondered if anyone here has it and how they like it. I am much concerned about the Magnaflow muffer and how loud it is. I drive about 70 highway miles a day and have 2 small children so noise is very critical. Any other opinions on Warpspeed would be great also.

Thanks!

I just put one on last weekend. I got the quiet muffler. I'm not sure what the bees in the can noise everyone talks about is. But I get a loud raspy noise out of the muffler when I step on it. It gets a little loud driving slow but I really can't hear it at highway speeds. As far as fit goes everything was fine until after the resonator. The pipe that goes over the axel was way off (about 4" high and to the right) my friend has a lift and a pipe bender in his garage and we still had to screw around with this pipe for over an hour. I'm going to call them and see if they send me a new pipe because the muffler is not sitting straight. I'll let you know how good thier customer service is. It also took them 2 weeks to ship when they told me 2 days.

I got the complete Warpspeed system, including Y pipe, CarSound hi-flo cat, resonator, aluminized B pipe and Dynomax Clone muffler. Overall, they system is great. Gains in performance and sound are good. However, I am very unhappy with the fitment of the B pipe. I have never been able to get it to fit right and as a result it sometimes hits the rear axle on bumps. Until I find a better solution for this, I can't lower the car, and I'd love to get a new set of springs to drop it about an inch and improve handling.

Overall, I would suggest that you get the Y pipe and NOT get the catback. Most of the gains are made in the Y pipe anyway, so unless you've got holes farther back in the system (like I did) I wouldn't bother.

A lot of people just replace the y pipe and b pipe since that is where the gains are and any aftermarket muffler is going to be louder than stock

you could get a Budget SS mandrel Y-pipe and B-pipe for right aroung $400ish. Don't bother with a cat. unless your stock one is rusted to crap. Then just get a nice muffler with a deep throaty tone, or i heard 99 OEMs are good to keep it quiet. make sure it's a single tip because doubles look bad unless the bumper is cut out more. at least 80% of exhaust gains on your basic exhaust upgrade are in the y-pipe. start with that, then add on, assuming your stock pipes are still good.
good luck
