97-99 Steering wheel on a 96?

Does anyone know if the 97-99 steering wheels will work on a 96???? I hate my granny wheel, and its beat up, so I want to get a black 97-99 steering wheel... Is it a direct "swap"????
Thanks,
Michael

I think it will work, but you will need to swap your airbag.

Good question. I'm in the same boat as you. What about 5th gen wheel w/ radio controls on the sides? That would look & function even better! Sorry to steal your thread.

Nah man.. if I could put a 5th gen wheel on that would be even better.... Well... with the steering wheel the airbag is in it, so I would swap it all over as one unit.. so that shouldnt be a problem.. all Im worried about is making sure that the hub is the same, and all the wires and stuff...... like cruise control controls and what not.....

Try to do a poor man's google search of the org. I remember not too long ago someone did this. From what I hear, it isn't too big of a job, but I would like a more step by step explination before messing with airbags.

What are the chances of messing up your airbag system when removing/replacing the airbag? I want to do this but fear I might mess something up.

99 Bose radios are digital volume controls so it works without a problem, you need to grap a harness on a 00+ maxima or any nissan with bose for it to work.
