Catback installed (help please - pics)
well this weekend blackmaxx96 and I installed the WSP B-pipe and Stillen muffler on my max and it sounds awesome! (ill try to have sound clips sometime soon) absolutely no rasp, just nice and smooth - the quietest exhaust setup ive ever heard on a maxima (this is coupled w/ a WSP superflo and RT cat) question for you B-pipe owners: does your pipe sit somewhat low near the rear right wheel and is there a hanger that should be there? its raining like crazy right now or id get some pics up. thanks guys.

I wish it were that simple. Get down by your right rear wheel and try to push the B-pipe up. If it's like mine, it won't budge. It's held in place by the bolts on the flanges and you can't twist or move it without moving the whole exhaust system, which is attached to the engine. There's not much play. I've only thought of two options:
1. Get a flange/gasket adapter. I do not know if these exist, but basically, just put an adapter between the cat and the B-pipe in order to change the angle slightly so the B-pipe tucks up against the body.
2. Have an exhaust shop bend the pipe slightly. In my case, I think this would be a bit costly because my B-pipe is mandrel-bent stainless steel.
Trust me, I will be looking into these options since I'm not at all happy with how my B is sitting. I'll let you know what I find out.

prob true - as i was told by the guy i bought it from the stillen muffler is one of the best if not the best muffler you can buy for the max. theres a reason it costs so much. idk man - i just heard several people tell me it was raspy - definitely not the case at all.

I think the reason some people say that is because it looks like stillens new muffler design is the "straight through" design....Grant, as far as that B-pipe situation, I think I have an idea that would help out. Remember that exhaust hanger I gave you? We could attach it right there, and find a point to connect it somewhere under the car back there, and make a bracket to mount it up, and you'de be good to go. We could probably do it in chapel hill this weekend or something if you wanna help me put on a RSB I just ordered
. Glad your enjoying the exhaust man!

LOL....Apexi has the best sound....

Yeah, I've never heard the apexi exhaust.. I've been reading up about people swearin about the WSII mufflers and what not... but from what i've heard in person on other maximas, from the SP2 and everything.. to me, the Stillen sounded much better....

But back to your b-pipe question, I have a cattman and it hangs that low.

No actually I didn't.... I gave him an incredible deal, because he's a very good friend of mine.. and I told him that when I had it on my car, before I even thought about selling it... and he paid less than 300 for the cat, catback, and muffler.... All less than 3 months old.
Thanks,
Michael

Keep me posted on the issue with Greddy B Pipe issues. I definitely want to get that taken care of. I tried to lift that section of the b pipe, and it pushed the muffler up against the underbody of the car. I was also considering cutting a few inches of the pipe off, and re welding it. I dont know if that will ruin the integrity of the pipe or not, but it definitely needs to get fixed.

hey mike - the reason i posted was bc it looked lower when i got home than when we installed it. I fixed that one hanger and it helped alot but i was just wondering if it was still sitting low. It sounds great! - im very pleased with it. thanks again mike for such a great deal. (
for an awesome org member). definitely let me know if I can help you w/ that sway bar - which one did you end up getting?

I'm probably gonna have a shop relocate my O2 because it's sticking down right now so I appreciate your info. ![ThumbsUp](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
