Hi. I took off my rear lights to clear out the orange part. I got up to where I have to heat the back of the lighting assembly. I have a heat gun -- I put it on the medium notch and the fan on high. However I want to know if that is the right heat, fan setting. I have done it for two minutes and the glue is not budging. If anyone can offer any pointers, such as how long I should heat it for and the settings it would be a great help to me.

Thanks

When I did mine (and SweetSound2001's) we experimented a bit... Heat on high with fan on low worked out great for us. We used *short* quick strokes of the gun over the edges (with those screws removed of course) to heat it up. The heat retains pretty well in the crevaces and the glued areas of the taillight. I would recommend heating an entire edge of the light at once, trying to pull it (that side only) after. Then quickly heat the other side and do the same. Then switch back to the other side. It's a really long process the first time around, but it is soooo worth it. If you let the glue or the edges cool down when you are pulling, they either break or just adhere agian. (I also used a gasket scraper to aid in the seperation of the front and back assemblies, since they get hot as hell and were hard to pull on...) Make sure you are wearing old clothes

Good luck...
