Hi,

I just bought a used maxima GLE 97 a month ago. It already has an alarm system in it.
I am just wondering if anyone knows how to reprogram it?
Because I think right now the alarm system's frequency is sometimes interfered by another frequency so that my alarm system (keyless entry) won't work.

Please help if anyone knows how to solve this.

My '97 transmitter sometimes takes several presses as well, and other times, has super long range. Try just changing the batter in the tranmsmitter first and see if that helps. Otherwise, check www.greghome.com . He has the instruction posted on his site!

I already changed the battery and it didn't help.

I am just wondering, does your alarm system have the chirp on? Or is it only the light flashing when you lock the door but nothing when you unlock it?

You can have a chirp? I'd love to have a confirmation chirp! My factory alarm flashes the hazard lights twice when I arm it and turns on the interior dome light when the doors are unlocked...

Mine doesn't have the chirp on. I'd like to know if we can get the chirp on. It's a nice thing to have.

I think that only the 5th gen's have a chirp feature. AFAIK, no one here has sucessfully added a chirp to the 4th gen alarm.

Adding a chirp to a 4th gen is no problem - as far as your turn light blink when locking/unlocking the doors by remote.

The relay doing this is in the trunk.

i have a chirp with the alarm system that came from the dealer...

i don't think its what most people have though, because mine doesn't have trunk release or automatic window roll down features.

mine just has two buttons, one for locking , unlocking, and a smaller one, i have no idea what that does.
