headlight problem

on the adjuster that aim the headlight up and down, which way should i turn the adjuster for up(clockwise)? also,i just put on aftermark*** headlights and the passenger headlight is higher, meaning the part closer to the center of the car is higher.seems like something is pushing it up from under the headlight.
anyone have any ideas on what i should do?thanks

roger

Aftermarket parts sometimes don't fit as well as OEM parts.

On level ground, position your car about 60 feet back from a wall and turn the adjusters to get your beams level, about 3 feet up from the ground. You'll figure out which way makes them point up and which way makes them point down with just a few turns.

is it possible that the reinforcement bracket between the headlight and bumper be bent to force the headlight to point up?if so,should i remove the bumper to bang it straight?

Like the stickies say face your car against a white wall at 25 feet not 60; then measure the height from the floor to the center of headlight, mark the same heigh on wall and then make another mark at 3-4 inches lower, that's where you low beams should be. I do not remember wich way is for raising them but try both ways, it is easier at night time to do it.

i know about the adjustment procedure.the thing is that my headlight itself is pushed up about 3/4 of an inch on the passenger side.the part that is pushed in is in the center of the headlight.thats why i wanted to know if maybe the reinforcement bracket is bent. car was in a minor accident in the front.
