Question about DTM mod...help!

So I decided to take the initiative and try to do the Dallas Taillight Mod. I got so far as to stick the lights in the oven, but I can't pry the lenses off! I already cracked a little piece of the lense off and I'm afraid to try again. Any tips? I'm using a thin metal spatula thing to try and pry it off but it won't budge very easy. Help please!

Your spatula is probably too flimsy. A flat head screwdriver will work better along w/ some brute force from your hands/arms. The adhesive is pretty tough but once its starts to come apart it gets alot easier!

Excuse me, I'm banging my head into the wall.. ...okay, I just realized that. I really shouldn't be modding my own car cause I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. I took the screws out of the turn signal side, but not the reverse side. I guess cause the instructions didn't mention it I just didn't notice? Hopefully somebody gets a good laugh out of this! I'm gonna try again.

Gonna use a new tool to pry it out too.

Edit: Okay, got it done. I'm gonna paint the lights and put everything back on tomorrow...after I clean up that black tar, which I got all over the lenses. Don't know if I should be brave and attempt the AE mod...we'll see...this better look good when I'm done!

ae mod if done well is sweet, but it is a little more difficult, I ran into problems where the blue painters tape was sticking too well and ripping up the chrome finish inside the lenses. So now I have a bit of the chrome missing and it pisses me off so I may just have to buy new headlights with the black housing done already on the corner lamps and try the ae mod again. Either that or go projectors.
