i cant stand the tan int or gold ext, am i the only one?
ive been haunting all the used car sites i can for a week now looking for a maxima (i need one badly) and it seems like 90% of them are either gold exterior and/or tan interior, and i just cant stand it. is this just me? should i just get over myself and buy one with a tan interior if i like the exterior?

The tan leather interior isn't bad. Take a look at max2max-98se 's car. It completely changed my mind about tan interiors. Green ext and tan interior is a great combo. IMO, it gives it some personality.

You got to know what your working with. Tan is an awsome color. Makes the car look very clean. My interior makes people say "wow man it looks really good" "I love your seats" "I love those chrome door handles". I can keep going on. I have leds put in my doors and they just look sick. Ill post some pics.

I love my pebble beige and tan interior. Only gripe is that I have to clean it often as I never wash enough of the gunk off of my hands when I work on it
When I bought my maxima, a 5 speed, in good condition, and price meant a hell of a lot more to me than color.
So yeah, if you can, get a five speed, you'll love it much more, even if it is tan.

My car is Black Emerald (DJ2), 5-speed, with the tan interior. A great combo in my biased view. It is profesionally detailed once a year and with the reapplication of the leather protector the interior still looks like new. It would be rather boring if the only leather interior on a 4th Gen Maxima happened to be black, plus it would be hot as hell in the summer!

what could i do to the tan interior to make it less.. boring? it looks too luxury for what i want i guess? for example, the poofy crap on the doors.
on the org, is the wood paneling considered sweet or just a feature?

When i first got my car...i just got sick when i saw the tan interior. Its black, and back then didnt have tinted windows. Once i tinted my windows....i feel better looking at it from the outside. One thing that bothers me is that i have an SE and it does not have leather!!!! i guess in 95 leather was optional. but yeah, now that i sit in it everyday...it looks fine. i dont mind it too much now. I guess once you love someone, everything about them seems to be beatiful...

Oh man tan cloth is the only color interior I would pick out. Tan looks good with almost every color except silver or dark gray yuck. You can't say no to a red 99SEL with tan cloth interior. Gray and black are getting so old, and I dislike leather. I wears fast and if it gets stained that's it. But with cloth it wears well and stains come out. Although there is one aspect of leather that I do like, if someone smokes in the car (I hate that) then it won;t burn as easy as the cloth.

its an artic white 96 gle, tan leather int, wood accents, digital climate, bose, w/ 90k. hes asking 6.1$ for it, but it needs struts at least, prolly belts and hoses and what not. the engine compartment seems pretty dirty, corrosion around the battery terminals and the like. you guys think i should go for it?
i posted about it in another thread ("is this 96 gle worth $6100") and they seem to think that its too expensive, but i dont have alot of time to be picky and im starting to get frustrated trying to find one that meets all my requirements. thoughts?
smx95, i like your dual tone doors and seats, is that something you did?

I personally can't stand gold/tan in or out. There were several cars I looked at that I would not even consider because of their color - I'm really picky! I'm happy with my graphite interior cause it hides dirt really well. My Mom's Subaru has a tan interior (a really gross mustardy color!) and it gets really dirty cause its so light. In my opinion, the only cars that should have a tan interior are the ones that are beige or some form of brown on the outside. No offense to anybody with this color! My taste just differs.

my car doesnt like to be called gold its pebble beige!
anyway i like the color... i obviously would prefer black on black but all color cars have potential in my eyes as long as you mod them right
OT - nismotic lovin the change to black - car looks great look forward to seein it at fdr meet

I think the tan leather looks great if it is kept up well. The gold exterior? Seems to be very common for the "on the street, negleted, beat up" Maxima, but there is one in the member's rides section that looks excellent.
I agree with those who say that it adds to the sleeper factor as well.
