firstly, my parking brake handle is down

searched FAQ's, no beans.

as title says, my BRAKE light is lit.

could this be some kind of bad sensor? with the parking brake off i can still spin the rear wheels freely, yet the light remains lit.

is this some kind of warning light for the brake system, or is it parking brake only.

any tips greatly appreciated. thanks!

thats what im wondering-- there seems to be *some* tension in the cable while the handle is down, but im wondering if the sender for that light works off of the ebrake handle or the cable tension somewhere.

i can spin the rear wheels when jacked up pretty freely without any friction from the caliper, so ehhh i dunno.

just unplug the sensor on the master cylinder res. to see if the light goes out. then you'll know if you need to replace it.

take your center console off and check the ebrake sensor.. its toward the base of the ebrake and the two metal pieces should only come in contact when ebrake is up.. sounds confusing but you'll understand when u mess around with it.
