it's getting pretty hot here in CA, and it seems more and more apparent that the A/C isn't performing like i want.

what can i do to keep the A/C running as well as possible? should i get it serviced? thanks

I have the same problem too. I have to get my car inspected soon, and I'll have them look at it.

do you have the electronic climate control?

I noticed mine wasn't that cold, then one day I must have accidently hit the "Auto" button on the electronic control, and a little bit later it was friggin cold in my car! so, try that, worked for me!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem as you guys. I too do not have automatic climate control. I brought it to a garage to have it checked, apparently I was told that the valves, I think on the a/c condensor or somewhere was leaking, they told me that freon leaked out, so my a/c hose had to be replaced and the condensor had to be refilled.

me too...

I have the same problem, though my car is a 93, I have the non-auto climate control, and it doesn't kick in that good. I had problems with my bro's Corolla as well, and I got a Gauge to measure the amount of refrigirant from Pepboys, it looks like a thermometer, so I checked my bro's Corolla (the A/C is in way worse shape, blowing straight hot air) it showed the thing is full but I later found the problem, (some dumbass before we bought the car must have tangled with wires, i just switched them and vuola) Anyways, you can get the gauge for like 4 bucks or so, not sure how much exactly and measure the Freon level, it is possible you are low on it and may need to recharge.. I figure that is the problem with my max, I haven't had time to check it out yet.
