HID Headlights

Is it possible to do a conversion for the 4th generation Maxima to include HID headlights? And if so does anyone have a write up or pictures of the headlights on. Lastly, if this is possible why don't we have a sticky for this?

people are custom fitting hid projectors in their headlights. look around, you should find a lot of posts reguarding it.

So putting HID's are possible. I guess the difference than between people getting HID's or the 9007 conversion would be money.

The money, and more the light output, 9007 is **** compared to hids, or even projector retro fits.

No, they won't melt but you're better of doing a retrofit. I have HIDs and i blind everyone, everywhere. Use the search, it's your friend. Use keywords like "projector, retrofit & HID". that should get you on the right track.

Good luck.

recently i got some new bulbs from ebay, and they are way better( as in much much whiter) than the stock nasty yellowish. I got bulbs for the headlights and the fogs.. much better in my opinion even if i spent <$50 for this. lol

HID kits are really bad as per they are not made for our headlight reflectors; they are impossible to aim and will send light all over the place and hardly put any light on the road; you will blind upcoming drivers and drivers in front of you as well; besides you may get tickets because cops will think you are driving with high beams, etc...So you better save a couple more hundred dollars and do the right think and get/retrofit your original headlights with some bi-xenon (low and high beams) projectors, the ballast, ignigters and bulbs depending how and where you get the whole set can run you about $300-600.
Some of the cars that have bi-xenon projectors are:
BMW 3 series 2003 and up
BMW 745 series 2002 and up
Infinity F35/45 (really big and hard to fit)
Nissan Murano (really big and hard to fit)
Audi A6 2003 and up
Audi A8 2005 and up (not 100% sure)
Nissan Maxima 6th gen.
Some Mercedes
Acura TL 2004 and up (the very best)
Try to find some post from many guys that done it already here and you can check www.hidplanet.com as well; very nice and helpful people there, just like us. I am saving really hard to do mine. In the meanwhile I did the 9007 bulb conversion and very happy with results, but HID projectors are 3 times more light or more on the road.

If you are going to use any kind of HID system make sure you buy or make a custom harness!
