Real quick question

Guys I bought my rims with 205/40/17 tires and it is way to small. I am pretty sure that the 40 means the side wall now if i was to get 235/45/17 would that 5 make a differnece in look of the car? Heres a pic. Also they are 17x7 would it even be worth getting or should I get a 225/50/17.

235/45/17 is the correct stock replacement size you need!

Does the side wall of 45 mean that much will it be that big of a difference from 40?

40% or 45% of 205 isn't much.. do the math (about 0.4 inch difference)

that tire is gonna f*ck up your rims.. and look at the HUGE gap.. wow.. get bigger tires.. (or rims)

I know its small tires but that isnt the question. The question is does the 235/45/17 make that much more of a sidewall than 205/40/17? or should I go 225/50/17

In the tire reading of say a 235/40/18 the 40 is the ratio aspect. This means the sidewall is only 40% as tall as the tread is wide. So, if the tread is 235 mm wide, the sidewall will be 94 mm tall. This is why your wheel/tire combo looks so wienie. The tire is only 205 mm wide and with a an aspect raation of only 40, this tire is way off.

205/40/17

Sidewall: 3.2 in
Radius: 11.7 in
Circumf: 73.7 in
Rev/Mi: 860

235/45/17 (YOUR RECOMMENDED SIZE)

Sidewall: 4.2 in
Radius: 12.7 in
Circumf: 79.6 in
Rev/Mi: 796

Ok, so first of all, your speedo is gonna be off.. and your gap is huge.. and you will f*ck up your rims.. It's always best to go with recommended.

EDIT: 225/50/17 that'll just look gross

From: Denver, CO
235mm(.45)= 105.75mm

205mm(.40)= 82mm

HUGE difference in side wall size...
