And, btw, this EXCLUDES comestic/sound system modications.

I'm only talking about performance and/or handling.

I'm thinking most people are gonna start off with a y-pipe or spring/strut combos

Thanks guys!

Y-pipe/JWT ECU/VI, then suspension, and that would be it, sleeper.

Going on the mods I have now. I would have done it the same way.

Suspension (springs/struts/all the bars), trans cooler, intake, brakes, y pipe, catback

If I had known how much money I was going to spend on my car alltogether I would have gone turbo first. But, assuming you have other mods:

y-pipe, suspension, catback, ecu, brakes, etc...

i would have hacked air box, gotten y-pipe, then did my suspension+bars, then got lightweight wheels.

oh wait, i did do that!

well, my plans are going to be PR CAI, Y-Pipe + headers, JWT ECU and VI. Then possibly the suspension.

I wouldn't have bought a cold air intake two months before I bought an SC.

Correct order:

0.) Get current on ALL preventative maintenance
1.) 16"-18" rims, Z-rated 235s, suspension (all in one shot).
2.) Stillen SC

3.) Then start doing the things that are nice but don't give you the same ooomph as the above two. Y-pipe, RASB, FST, exhaust, etc.

I did it wrong on my '96 and I am pretty much doing what I just layed out above with my '99. Fluids/filters immediately, a few weeks ago I did the wheels and suspension, right now I am in the process of installing the SC.

First I would have done suspension.
FSTB, RSTB, RSB, SFC, LTB and then some good lowering springs like Tein S-techs and some Illuminas.

Then maybe a y-pipe, CIA, ECU, Cat-back, short shifter and clutch. Thats about it. oh and deffinately would have done the 300z BBK.

i am fortunate enough to be able to do it all over again......my 1st big change was to get a 5 spd.....then instead of spending 500 bux on an exhaust i made on with the help of some friends with a welder....next i am to use S-techs not sprints and AGXs no GR-2s......and i wont waste money on an intake......i wil prolly do the 300zx brakes......i am not usingmy Z31 wheels on my new max....and i rellay want to build a strong motor...mabe a 3.5 swap...if not i want FI...as far as stereo i put 2 tens in instead of 1 12" cause i kept blowing them up....i def want a stillen body kit and eventually some nice wheels....

If i was to start it over:

1) Y-pipe
2) Intake
3) Spring/Strut combo
4) RSB/FSTB
5) B-pipe/UDP
6) Brakes (probably a decent but cheap BBK)
7) 18's (6,7 together)

After that performancewise, i don't see myself having too much more fun with a FWD family car, so i would probably end there. The Max is a great car, but no matter how you look at it, you'll still have FWD.
