kyb gr2's shocks
eibahc lowering springs
front strut bar
rear sway bar.

well i was going real fast switching lanes down a highway and my car just started spinning thank god i didnt hit and thing but i was spinning for a good 20 seconds. the edges of my tires are slightly melted lol, now i hear a squeaking noise on the front right side? and i just got into a accident a FORD F-150 hit me on the front passenger side? anyone give me some help? its squeaking a lot , and my knock sensors done for also check engine lights on? i live in queens anyone help?

and also i have the greddy catback exhaust sp1 and i got the adapter and put the obx cone air filter and thats about all any other good ideas to help performace? thanks.

 

well, i would first check all my tires for tire pressure and check for any un-even lowering of the car. as to why you spun out, You were driving too fast for your own good and switched lanes a lil too quick meaning you cut your wheel too hard too fast. Seeing that you're only 17, i can only assume that you do not have THAT much driving experience. Anyways, what was the driving conditions, was it clear and sunny? If it was rainy, than you were definately driving too fast for your own good. But what road were you driving on that you were able to spin out and not hit anything? you got really lucky. As to a squeaky noise, you have to be more specific. Is it only when you take turns, go over a bump, or when the shock goes up and down. Or you can just skip all other things and just learn your lucky lesson and drive slower. But hey, i'm only 20 yrs old, i was like that before i totalled my accord. But i only learned it because my insurance sky rocketted and i had to pay for a new car. This is correct, i pay for everything myself, mommy n daddy only helps me with my school bills such as books, i pay tuition. Like i said, there's a place and time to race, but i personally do'nt think New York is the place. Come to jersey, it has much better roads and places that you can fly like the turnpike. I used to drive 120 mph everyday to school, why, cause i can. but now, i don't wanna go more than 90, usually i'm at about 80-85

dude somethings bent..if it wher my car..which i would never abuse...that would b my first guess. bending causes things that used to be lined up...to touch
when u turn too quick and youre going fast, you weigh alot less letting your front wheels loose all traction, then they prolly grabbed again sending you to hell. ..heeeelll

 

what type of tires do you have performance or stock. doing all the other stuff you did helps alot but with out the matching tires to handle the stress that you try or tried to put on your tires taking a turn or whatever. its like playing basketball with sandals or high heels.

 

sucks dude....thats a nice suspension set-up, but if you dont have a sweet set of tires, forget it ... tires are proly the most important thing on your car

 

i have the the nitto tires there good. hmm.. maybe i need to change my shocks to tociko illuminas... it squeaks like after a bump and sometimes on a regular road. oo yea and the conditiosn were it was a sunny day , anyone know jones beach? i was headed back to queens racing a bmw 645 .. i wanted to see how good the maxima really was , wasnt long before i bought it, and i had 3 passengers in the car? anyone help trying to get a lot of things done to this car

 

the kyb gr'2s are pretty rough.. the hps are worse i had them and they got shot up within 3 months , hmm i need more things anyone? help?

lol that 645 saw me spinning laughed and drove off . lol i learned my lesson , i just replaced my axle shafts the cv joints split because of the spin. the ford f-150 thankfully only hit body parts nothing mechanical maybe 2 inches away from the shocks and springs , i live in queens i got a price for $1,000 dollars for someone to replace the passengerside fender and front door and paint the rear bumper and quarter panel anyone does that stuff to here? if you can give me a better price ill go there definitely, but the job is top notch.

 

Jezz, I dont really know if you need more power. Sounds like you have issues just keeping up with what you have.
Maybe you should get some more driving experience under your belt before you try and get big power under the hood.
Switch lanes driving real fast doesnt really sound real wise for a novice driver.
Your car shouldnt "just start spinning" unless you jsut dont know how to drive and your pushing the vehicle beyond its limits.

RSB is probably the reason you spun out at a higher speed...you need to do that $hit at an autocross track or somewhere else, not on the highway.

Recheck your suspension on the passenger front...make sure everything is right. Maybe a tie rod or something else got bent.

It's bad enough that you're an inexperienced driver driving recklessly and endangering other people on the road, but what were you thinking trying to pull that crap with three passengers in the car? Slow the eff down and get some experience behind the wheel before you try pushing the limits.

 

you need to get a 4 banger. something with less power so you know your limits. this car is way over your limit. if you get into another accident, i wont be surprised. btw, how fast is "really fast"? you need to check yourself man. if youve got "the need for speed" go play the game and leave the racing to real professionals.

 

Your the reason why us teenagers insurance so high man... How about you take it slow, leave the racing for the tracks if you really crave the need.. NY insurance is already too high :-\.. Do what i do, Just go for looks & suspension.. After you get a little more bit experience, then i'd worry about engine mods and stuff

 

I know exactly what the problem is.

Sit in your car and look at what's between the steering wheel and the seat.

Lesson learned, buddy. Stiff springs, so-so shocks, and a sway bar in a super-flexible non-sport-oriented chassis, loaded with passengers, driving recklessly on the highway "trying to see how fast the car can go" by racing a brand new 330hp BMW, and then wondering what's wrong with your car.... I can't even imagine how brashly you must have been driving. Hell of a way to earn a reputation on the forums.

 

Please check off the box in back of your license saying you wish to be an organ donor. At least some good may come of this.

Not to flame you because I drove pretty crazy too when I was your age, but you have to sit back and look at the potential consequences of your actions. You had three other passengers in your car. How would you feel if one of them had been seriously injured or killed?

And how proud do you think your parents would have felt?

 

It's no surprize that people are flaming you. You should've have seen the hole we ripped out of another 17 year old kid for snowdrifting on a street, and consequently tapping a curb, misaligning his suspension.
I guess it takes a couple of your friends to die before you realize this, but when you bury a friend who only had their license for a month, a classmate who was drunk on an ATV, and a very close friend who either fell asleep, or had an aneurysm, and crashed into a tree, it starts to hit you. Those were only the auto-related deaths in MY CLASS ALONE that has died since last May.
Smarten up. Everyone knows that you can drive fast w/o endangering others, but what you did was reckless. I speed, and have fun, but there's a reason why I haven't had ANY kind of accident since I got my license last January.

I also don't want to sound like the over cautious father figure. I've never been in an accident, but I've had a friend die from doing exactly what you did - being a moron with "too much power".

If you enjoy your car so much, you will take it light on the pedal so you can keep the car for awhile. I don't really get the point of putting so many people in danger just to lose to a car there is no chance of you beating. and take it easy out there.

Take it from me. totaled my first car after 1 month of driving because of stupidity and alcohol. i was 17 too. had my gf with me. i got very lucky i didnt get killed, kill someone i loved, or get a dui. and i've payed ALOT more for insurance since. Take a sec to think how lucky you were too, and ease off the gas a lil. The adrenaline rush from driving like a stuntman isn't worth the possible consequences.

 

I'm going to agree with him... a single lane switch in a Maxima? I've done it a million times, at all kinds of speeds, with stock and my current suspension (RSB/FSTB/Illumina/H&R/Falken Ziex 512 17") And I have NEVER had this problem. I've been over 100 a few times too. Just how hard and fast did you jerk the wheel? Just how fast were you going? And how much tread on your tires (size/aspect ratio?)?


I'm sorry, but I'm more inclined to fault your driving than your vehicle.

 

yea i did realize i stared death in the face. im just trying to do as much to my max. the only reason i was stupid enough to race was i just bought the maxima i got it for real cheap , superblack
sarona grille , clear bumper lenses , alpine cva-1004 , etc it came hooked up the previous owner knew how to handle the max very well . i was coming from jones beach long island thank god. from all the way i tried to switch all teh way to the right lane due to it merges into differnt high way and i turned a lot more than i shouldve , i just upgraded my brakes also at that time my brake pads were all worn and my car hit a big pot hole so i needed a wheel alignment , im just asking for some help to make sure this type of thing doesnt happen maybe something to make the ride a lot better, thanks for all the information
