Installation of 4th gen fogs

I have a GXE and my car is not pre wired for fogs. Is it possible to install the fogs with a different wire kit to my own switch?

install everything all the hareware and the lights and wire it up yourself, all it is, is pos and neg.... ground it out somewhere and then run the pos from the foglights to a switch in the car and then on the other side of the switch continue the wire to the fuse box in the car and get whats called a fuse tap and that should do it for you.

and with this set up use that "foglight switch" to turn them on and off

also you'll be able to have your fog lights on when your highbeam is on

don't just run the positive wires from the fogs to a switch then tap the fusebox. the fogs are going to draw way too much power. you have to use relays to draw power directly off the battery, then run the switch inside. do a google search for foglight wiring. there are tons of write-ups on it.

I think I read on a dealer's website somewhere (courtesy?) that all maxima's come prewired for the oem foglights. The plugs are just taped up behind the bumper somewhere.

Haven't personally checked it though.

EDIT: Here's the actual page from courtesyparts.com

Went to the site and it says "1997 to 1999 maximas are pre-wired for fog lights (except SE and GXE A/T models without factory ABS, VSS, and a Drivers Power Seat)."

Therefore, my car isn't pre-wired. Looks like i will have to wire them to my own switch. Ill just wire it straight to the battery with a relay.

Are you saying that you're not sure if you have ABS even though you have wiring for it? Or do you mean you have wiring for the fogs?
Either way:
I don't have ABS either but judging from the cars I've had in the past along w/ other ppl's cars, when the key is in the RUN position and your cluster lights up, there should be an ABS light... right?

Someone w/ ABS please correct me if I'm wrong.

...or just slam on your brakes and see what happens...
