Need help w/ MAF sensor

I have a 1999 Nissan Maxima--
The MAF sensor "kicked" on the check engine light.
When I go to check the voltage on the MAF it is reading
7.3v when the car battery is turn on, when I start the engine it goes to 11.3

This should be less than 1.0 volts with just the battery
and with the engine running it should measure 1.0 - 1.7

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions??
Thx-- Matt

Ohms-- is used for a continuity check--- (when there is no power attached to the MAF sensor)

Its used more more voltage than required--- but I cannot figure out why??
