hehe...i really have no problem with the ypipe...even though we have to do all this work...we still didnt pay over 100 with them...thats a wonderful price for anything that actually increases performance plus the fact that the 100 includes shipping...the gaskets will run you less than 25 dollars...awesome price if you ask me...extra bunghole or not...

ive never heard the bees in can sound but since so many ppl talk about how bad it is, i assume it isnt a very nice sound. if this happens with the topspeed ypipe i'll probly do thermal wrap to decrease the noise as much as possible and everytime i hear it i will remind myself that i only paid $100 bucks and i get what i pay for
At least it looks good.

Sure, I understand. But I feel they should have charged $115 or $120 and included it. But no arguing that it is a good deal.
That way they can blame fitment issues on the nuts/bolts/gaskets that they weren't responsible for providing. Sounds fishy to me!
Buy the stainless steel Budget y-pipe. Exhaust wrap is for racers and shouldn't be used for everyday applications unless you want your y-pipe to rust out. Exhaust wrap retains moisture and salt and will corrode your part in due course.

I've heard of people having to wrap their Budget/LSS Y to stop bees in the can.
Well if they had bees in the can sound with a Budget/LSS y-pipe, I wouldn't blame it on the y-pipe, I would be inclined to ask if they have made other exhaust modificiations, eg. an aftermarket muffler.
I have absolutely no bees in the can sound and had no fitment issues.

What other A.M. exhaust componants do you have? I actually just ordered an LSS 4 days ago. I really hemmed and hawed about ordering. I didn't want to go cheap and risk loud/unpleasant noise. In my research, it appears reviews on the LSS and W.S. are mixed. However, almost 100% of all Cattman owners are happy. And on top of that I actually borrowed my friends Cattman for a week and it did not increase sound at all (all my other exhaust componants are stock). So to me Cattman is tried and true. But, I took the chance and ordered an LSS. I hope I don't regret it... Or else there will be a 1 week used '99 Cali LSS Y for sale in the sale forum soon. lol. So what other a.m. exhaust do you have and how was your sound increase with the LSS?
I procrastinated at length before ordering the Budget stainless steel y-pipe. Let me put things in context for you: before joining the .org last May the only mod I had done to my car was install a plastic wind deflector for the sunroof. Prior to installing the Budget y last June, I installed a Vibrant FSTB and a K&N panel filter.
I ordered the Budget y with some trepidation and even went as far as talking to some shops about exhaust wrap while the y-pipe was on order.
I am pleased to report that there were absolutely no fitment problems with the installation which I paid to have done. My y-pipe and its hardware was not rusted and the 02 sensors came out and were installed with no problem.
The car is a little louder than before upon startup because two pre-cats have been removed. I understand they cut back on cold start-up emissions.
You only really notice this if you are standing outside the car while its warming up.
Once the car is warmed up, there is no discernible noise difference whatsoever at idle or when cruising. At WOT, there is a bit of a growl that I quite like but its also a function of the K&N air filter allowing more air into the exhaust system. As far as performance is concerned, just put your foot into it and notice the difference after say 4,000 rpms. My fuel economy was only affected the first week after I installed the y-pipe because I kept on driving the car like I stole it. However, after the novelty wore off, and I quit flogging the car I would have to say that my fuel economy has not been affected.
The Budget y-pipe weighs considerably less than the OEM, say maybe 15 pounds.
Store your old y-pipe away safely in the event you ever need it.
I haven't had to go through emisssions testing yet, but will make sure the car is good and warm before I do.
I hope this helps.

Just a thought........
IMO, using an aftermarket y-pipe also warrant the use of aftermarket b-pipe, high flow cat, and muffler. Wouldn't gains be better this way? I mean why open up the front when exhaust flow will get restrictive again by the time it gets to the cat up to the muffler?

The stock y-pipe on a 4th Generaton is quite restrictive. The y-pipe is very narrow before it enters the cat. I don't believe an aftermarket y-pipe warrants buy any other aftermarket exhaust components. I have toyed with buying a Budget b-pipe to complement my Budget y, but its not a very good bang for the buck!
