Massive power loss

So I jumped into my car and tried to crank, but nada. I was astonished. My lights weren't left on and all the connections under my hood was fine. I closed my hood, jumped back into my car, then it started up without a problem. Seems like the ECU reseted since my headunit's settings went back to default. That was two days ago.

Today I was at a red light and for a split second my car lost power. The only thing i noticed that changed was headunit shut off and came back on.

My alternator was changed 2 years ago...could it be the work of that or the battery?

I had to replace my battery two years ago. I experienced somewhat similar symptoms.
Take it somewhere and get the battery checked out, but don't pay for a check on the electrical system. You should be able to get an opinion on the battery for free.

I'm glad to see that mrgeek has resurfaced. I haven't heard hide nor hair from you in a couple of weeks. I have been missing your astute mechanical observations. mrgeek's da man, lol!
