Why can't the 97-99 have the LED type gauge needles????

I was lookin in my aunts 95 max the other day and i noticed the her gauges light up pure white and the needles light up with teeny tiny white LEDs. Is there a way to get these for the 97-99?? Does anyone that has a 95-96 know what im talkin about??

95/96's have different bulbs to light up the actual gauges

Stock are NOT L.E.D.'s though.

There are multiple threads about LED interior lighting mods.

Yeah i've read a few of those threads about LED interior lighting mods but my main question was about the needles that the 95-96 maxs have. im sure a 95-96 owner knows what im talking about. my question was would i be able to swap out the orange needles in my 97 for the 95-96 ones.

Sorry didnt make my question clear in my first post.

Yea Ive seen 95/96 SE needles...and they look fuggin SICK at night. Im sure the swap wouldnt be a problem, but like I said...97-99s have different bulbs to light up the guages and needles....therefore it STILL may not look the same.

I personally wouldnt want to mess with the needles. I like it how everything works properly and IMO it's not worth the risk to mess up. www.importintelligence.com has some FIRE azz needles.

no need to swap needles if you want the clear instead of the orange. all you have to do is take some sandpaper to the backs of the needles and sand off the orange paint.

go to the how tos and look at the how to for led needles. it shows you how to do what im talking about in there.

That wont work on a 99, or atleast an SE-L cuz my needles are ORANGE, absolutely no way to make them clear.
