2001 AE LSD trans into 4th gen

Any issues I should know about. Passenger side drive axle needs to be changed I know. Anything else that people have run into as far as problems with this swap?

i believe the only other issue would be with the shift rods.

IIRC, the shifter sits further back. Otherwise, it shouldn't be any different.

Yep there's that issue too. I've got a B&M short shifter that sits way forward, so hopefully the issues will cancel eachother out. Any others?

It does. Mine sits perfectly with a 2k tranny and a B&M.

Some have had to use the 4th gen speed sensor. My 2k works fine, but the 4th gen would have been fine too.

No, I know for a fact that he has a 5th gen 5spd. He got it done at the same shop that did my rebuild. Being LSD I am not sure about.

I actually have 01 non-LSD tranny on my car, and everything's fine with it, no actually problem with it. with STS you'll be ok with the shifter position.

The Stillen STS worked fine with the '01 AE tranny in mine. If the position did move it was so little I never noticed. Only change I needed was the driverside axleshaft as the inner gear size is diff from the A32. I see on carparts those things are still rare to locate if you need one. Over 20Kmi on mine and still gripping strong. Good luck!

Sorry to jack this thread but i have a 5th gen 5-speed in my car and was wondering if a STS from a 5th gen car will fit in mine.

The B&M is for 95-01. So as long as you mean the first half of the 5th gens then yes it will work fine.
