I also didn't notice the mechanic not being able to use the clips you were refering to, everything was used. I broke them in for a couple of hours by driving around a parking lot and running some erands. By nightfall they got much quieter and after being easy on the all day, I wanted to give them a slight test. When braking with some good pressure, you can hear the noise from the crossdrills. Sounds cool. But I can definitely notice the difference in braking power. Too bad they are from Stillen but the aftermarket brakes and rotors are a great improvement.

are you sure that they used the "v" shaped clips? anyway, my brakes are fine without them; i also read other people's posts saying that they didnt use the v-clips either.

thanks for following up.

Actually, it looked like the clips were made onto the old pads unless they were rusted on. I was in the shop with the mechanic during the install but I don't remember anything being left out. All I know was he popped the old ones out and popped the new ones in. He probably didn't use them.

its probably ok then, my brakes are working fine without them.. oooh, i like my brakes (slotted)!! its probably the combo of the slotted rotor and the metal matrix pads, but now i can stop/decelerate confidently when those stoopid drivers lane change at 55mph into 85mph traffic....

Yeah, and no more massaging of the hands and feet with the old warped rotors. I am still going to be easy on them for a few hundred more miles. I don't want any problems.
