Altezza Gen II's in a 95 trunk lid, pics inside!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I finally modified my 95 trunk to fit my Altezza Gen II's (97-99), and I'm pretty happy considering I didn't have to repaint my trunk, the fit is so so, but at least it cost me nothing except time. I wouldn't recommend going this way. The 97-99 trunk conversion is easier, so I'm going to continue my search for a 97-99 trunk lid as I'm pretty picky. Man I love the Gen II's those 4 burning rings of fire look hot!!

I know, I know, there's plenty of Altezza haters but I love the Gen II's and that's what counts, but I thought most would be interested in seeing 97> tails in a 95 trunk lid, I had nothing to loose as a 95 trunk lid is worth nothing anyway.

There's a few more pics on my domain, also continued with Blue LED conversion of interior pieces, did my ignition light today.
Waiting for a few more parts for my 300ZX/13"cobra rotor BBK conversion.
Next Supercharger, then two tone leather conversion from Leatherseats.com

Not bad, not a huge fan of altezzas... but those came out pretty decent. The only part I don't like about generation II's are the fact that they stick out. Nice job though.

The best part of your car is the color! Just kidding.

Obviously with the work you've done and the projects you've listed, you plan on keeping this car for awhile.

You and I might end up with the last DJ2 95 Maxima SE, 5-speeds, on the planet, lol!

You noticed I didn't comment on the tail lights. I didn't want to go there. If you like them that's all that is important.

Looking Good

Welcome to the Club.

I got a 97 Lid, but congrats on the custom work, I see no need to get a 97 Lid now that you made them fit, but I can understand why you would, that crease thats in the 95/96s doesnt look as good as the flat back on the 97+

The shaved trunk looks naked. The burger should be kept on at a minimum.

Andrew, I'm just wondering if there is a rule of thumb with respect to when one should not consider installing a supercharger. I'm not sure what your mileage is, but I think it's in the order of 110/111+ miles if I rembember correctly from hearing you discuss it at the meet.

Would installing a s/c at that mileage cause you any grief? And no, I won't consider swapping engines, lol!

I know what you're sayin and with this trunk they stick out even more, I like that they stick out some but on this trunk they kind of sit on top rather than being recessed and thats what I want to change, the fit looks much nicer on 97> so I will eventually change. I appreciate the props on the custom work.

It's a Nissan man!! Mileage means nothing if the car is properly maintained. I threw mine on at 110k and it runs like a champ!

Fine, I just thought I'd ask the question. Some guy from New Jersey PMd me a year ago when I first joined the .org because I stated the mileage on my car, about 52K at the time. He wanted to buy it because he was afraid of supercharging his, and if I remember correctly he had 110 or 120K on his engine. I take it his fears may have been overblown.

agree with jim over here. I would slap that blower at my present mileage 170XXX.... and if it wasn't for good ole mother nature it would still be runnin....shoot!! I wish i can say I blew up my motor with the S/C.
As for the Altezzas...I think its how u make of it....to me... I think the clears and red is played out...its almost like driving a honda.

As long as the engine compression is still good then there should be no problems at all.

good job man, thats some nice custom work you did there.

and to whoever thinks red/clearswould have been better, it would have involved just as much work for him to mod his trunk for that too, so in my opinion the Gen II's are justified here to show off the customization.

red/clears are nice and clean and i have them on my car, but the Gen II's with the carbon background match up real well on that car,

good job bro, keep moddin

Lot's of tedious cutting.Checking fitment, cut again etc etc.

I'm also using amber bulbs for now, but I don't like how they reflect the amber colour when not illuminated, possibly an LED with resistance would work???? I had to also fab for the 192 bulb on the reverse light as the 95-96 use 1156 bulbs.

BTW Yep I'm running Toyo Proxes4 they're great tires.

Hey rmurdoch, I was a little concerned about my mileage with a supercharger also, but I have faith in the VQ!!

Hey Blackcat , thanks! How things going with your electrical and your Gen II's?

Thanks Nookiemax you summed it up, the idea of modding to me is to personalize a vehicle to make it look different. All that work to put in red clears which the average joe wouldn't know the difference from stock would be a waste of time IMO, besides I like the Gen II's better than any other tail, because they are so different and obviously not stock.
