My tip for removing pinstripes...
My neighbor is a paint and body man who recommended my using rubbing alcohol when removing the residue after removing the pinstripes. He suggested this because he feels stuff like Goo Gone, etc. can be a little harsh on paint. The alcohol did the trick without any problem. A little elbow grease was needed in spots just like with other things suggested. No paint came up or got blemished, though. Just my $.02.

I removed mine 2 years ago using goo-gone. Nothing happened to the paint. The color difference was noticable at first, but now you would never even know there was ever pinstripes on the car. I'd say after about 1.5 months of the sun, lots of washes and rain and it was all good. Excellent 'mod'.

I had some nasty white and red stripes on my black max. Hideous! There was no way they were staying on there. I pulled them off and was all good till i hit the drivers side doors. The paint was discolored. I didnt know what to do cuz a repaint is outta the question. Then It hit me! I put a black pinstripe over it. Looks mint, in certain angles on sunny days it looks like a nice body line similar to a BMW... its unnoticable in just about every other circumstance.
