I went to an autobody store, West Coast Auto Body Supply. They had a product called SEM Color Coat Flexible Coating. I used it and it works well. Just remember to prime it before. Sanding might be helpful too. Good luck...

DupliColor vynil paint is GREAT on vynil, not on plastic.

Regular duplicolor on plactic chips off.

Few days ago, i decided to paint a couple interior trims chrome. Bought Duplicolor chrome spray paint and clear top coat. Also, a guy told me to put plastic adhesion promoter instead of sanding everything. So i tried that. Worked great till i sprayed clear. Chrome became kinda grey not metallic and honestly...it was looking like sh*t.

Maybe 24 hours for the chrome paint to dry was not enoug. Found myself with having to sand everything down and respray chrome. That sucked. Now, left it without clear and it's looking nice. But i still don't know if i'm gonna try to clear these trims in like 5 days, to make them a bit more glossy...

I jsut used the silver SEM product. I didn't primer or sand just in case i want to go back to the original finish, which was wood grain. Looking back at it now, i would have done some sanding and used primer before the final coat. It would have come out even better. By the way, i didn't use a clear coat.
I was just getting into modding my max and was a little new at everything. Basically i didn't want to screw anything up.
Well good luck.
