AT - Hard to shift into Drive

For the past few weeks it has been a little hard to move the shifter into Drive. It shifts out of Park and into Reverse fine, like it always has, but when it gets closer to Drive it gets harder to move the shifter. The car shifts fine; I haven't noticed any change in the shifts. The tranny was flushed about 2 yrs. ago and drained and refilled about 1 yr. ago.
Anyone have any ideas what it may be?

Your shift linkage might need adjusting. I don't know anything about how you would go about checking/adjusting that - if you have a Haynes look in there, otherwise, it's a good time to get one!

mine is hard to get out of park when i park on a hill i have to yank that sucker back. Also sometimes when i do get it in drive it doesnt go forward it goes in reverse. So i have to push the shifting lever back a little more for it to catch. I dont think its the transmission but im sure its the linkage dont know how hard it is to change ill scan the documents for you when i get home.

Do you use the parking brake when you are parked on an incline? If you don't, the car rocks back and the weight of the car sits on the transmission pawl - which is why it is hard to shift back out of P. If you do use the parking brake, but still have this problem, then your parking brake isn't holding the car well. When parking on an inline, keep the brake pressed, engage the parking brake, and then release the brake pedal. The car should not move at all.

Your other issues definitely sound like you have to adjust the linkage (going in Reverse instead of forward when in D).
