sorry man, i got the same problem.....
Yes, I've read the write ups! BUT..... NOBODY HAS INCLUDED WHAT TOOL TO USE TO TURN THAT FREAKIN' BOLT THAT HOLDS THE KS DOWN! I've asked before but no one replies and i just can't find the thread that i posted in so that i could double check for any replies to my question..... forgive me for not being able to navigate the maxima. org website yet, i'm still new here. yeap, i've tride an angled extension thing but the socket keeps slipping off at a certain point in the turn. What do you use to get it off?

Get on the bolt with an actual swivel socket, not the swivel adapter. Best to use a chrome non impact socket rather than the black impact style. Just put the socket on a 12" 3/8 extension with a ratchet and hold it on the bolt as tight as possible. Might take a couple tries but you'll get it. It helps to take the EGR solenoid out of the way. Good luck.

I did it myself, I used a 12mm swivel socket, and ratchet. I had to remove my air intake box, for more room. Also needed a trque wrench. It was really easy...just irritating to do because of the small space. The socket will probably slip off a few times, it took me about 3 tries until i finally balanced it right. As I said...very simple, but annoying.

I just did mine this past weekend, using a 12mm swivel and a 18" extension. All 1/4" drive. It took some playing to get the bolt to break loose - it was on tight. My old knock sensor casing was cracked - probably from being overtightened. Just play with it a little. The swivel sockets are a little wierd - they bind at certain points, you'll see what I mean if you try to just rachet the socket while holding it in your hand - it catches at the point where the univ. joint flips sides... so I lined it up so it was right at the beginning of the point of travel after "swivelling"... its hard to explain - but play with it and you'll see what I mean.
