new battery

Finally my old battery gave up after 8 years. Its stock from 1997. I had to jump start it. Now for a new battery, I have a general question. Does the cost of the battery affect the performance of the car? I'm pretty sure its not but I don't wanna buy a cheap 50 bux battery and worry about it later. I know that the warranty would be less but I'm not worried about that.

a cheap battery will decrease your horespower and slow your 1/4 mile times down ........... lol .... what the heck is the point of this thread... you get what you pay for, a cheap battery wont last as long as an expensive battery ... hate to be mean but

i think he was asking if it had any effect on the performance of the car. not performance of the battery.

Interstate batteries are excellent and competitively priced. Check local dealers. Nissan OEM batteries are Interstate (or at least some were/are). Since my original lasted 7 yrs, I figured, why mess with a good thing and just picked up another Nissan one. They are (surprisingly) the same price as other quality batteries.

A cheap battery won't have any effect on the performance of the car. A cheap battery won't have the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) of a more expensive battery and won't last as long. It also won't start the car in as cold a climate as a higher CCA battery. You'll find this out if it gets down to 20 below zero.

Also, if you have a high wattage amplifier on your car stereo, you may discover that the car stalls at idle when the music hits a lot of base with the volume cranked up

yeah but a nice capacitor will help even a ****ty old battery like mine hit bass like woo and still idle nicely at 650 rpms

I'm going to swap mine out soon, probably with an interstate.
