ANTENNA dun broked

My antenna has always made noise, like it was ready to die. So i guess it did. It came all the way out, but when i turned the car off, it was stuck. I kinda helped it down and it continued to go down all the way. Well its stuck again and i'm kinda just tired of messing with it, i'm assuming the thang is just on its last leg.
my question is, how much do antenna's go for? should i just go for one off a junkyard max or are there other after market brands to consider. and how do i uninstall and install it.
thank you

new mast...$17 shipped from ebay... and every now and then spray some wd-40 or liquid wrench on it while fully extended and wipe off with rag or little towel to prevent build up <-- that was the problem. very easy to unistall and install...and i think is in the stickies.

Mine was laying in the trunk, with the plastic cog strip still attached, when I bought my '95...

There is an alternate antenna hooked to the receiver if I remember correctly...perhaps the rear defroster grid? In a metro area like Houston, that ought to get all the stations you can eat, unless you just like the other one coming up.

yeah i actually havent noticed the antenna making a difference with sound quality. if it was an eye sore, i would want to get rid of it but, eh, if its a cheap fix i might as well.

and i dont know if its the motor or the mast, i'll spray some wd -40, i have lubed it before and it didnt make a big difference though.
how much are the motors?

alright, then i'll go for it. i just dont really like the idea of buying something used(like this) that could barely be in better condition than my own. so this being new, is more appealing.
thanks.

looks like you may have to splice a bit...but it shouldn't be that big a deal. And for $30 it looks worth it...

yeah, i dont have a problem with splicing, althought working in little cramped areas with a soldering gun is annoying.
