Rev limiter

Rev limiter

I know this is in the stickies but I need a QUICK answer, does the SE have a rev limiter?

No. My 95SE is capable of in excess of 140 mph.

Edit - My bad. I meant speed limiter. One of the benefits of the JWT ecu is to increase the rev limit from 6500 up to 7000 rpms.

LOL. There isn't a car in production that doesn't have a rev limiter. It prevents you from blowing your engine. You are probably thinking of a speed governor. This prevents you from exceeding a certain speed. Only GXEs have this. If indeed you are talking about a rev limiter then you can move it foward with an upgraded ECU which I do not advise unless you have MEVI or 00VI.

Why don't you recommend an upgraded ecu on its own, without MEVI or 00VI?

it is not the retuned ECU that is not recomended, it is just that a higher rev limiter without the addition of a different manifold like an MEVI or 00VI is pointless since the power with a sock manifold drops like a rock after 5.5K rpm's.
