Rear Shocks Seem To Go Fast! WHY?

Well ive already replaced my rear shocks twice already in the last two months. I know once somewhere on this .org i read of a member selling some type of mount, i think, anyways it helped with controlling of rear shocks going fast. Does anyone know of what i talk about? If so let me know i have to buy whatever it takes to prevent this from happening....

Might help if you were a little more descriptive. Are you dropped at all, using aftermarket shocks, towing, carrying a ton of weight in the back.

The rear mounts you are talking about give longer travel for the shock but you shouldn't need them if you are stock.

Definitely check out Bens long travel rear strut mounts... I just finished putting mine on and it made the biggest difference.. definitely worth the 85 bucks

I think we've had enough fat chicks jokes in the last two days to fill a 6th gen max.

ahh I love fat chics. reminds me of a time when we played "fat b|tch bingo", whoever could bring the biggest girl home that night, and get her to blow you won the prize (usually $20). Ahh, good times with everclear.

IMO Maximas are well known for blowing out the right rear struts.

I think that it has to do with the way the rear suspension is designed. The pivoit point for the rear beam is off center, thus causing the forces on the right rear to be more sever than the left.

p.s. the right rear caliper is known to lock up also. I wonder if they're related...

For springs i have Progress and the rear shocks that i just put on were a pair of Gabriels in the rear. Next week i will be installing Tein S Tech's and KYB AGX. I just dont want these to go as fast as the others. What do you guys think?

there ya go...Gabriels are probably not performance shocks that can handle a drop. It shouldnt blow out for a few years if u use AGX, although stech is pretty low so you increase the "blowing out possibility".
