violent shift?

my car shifts pretty violently into gear2 (i have an auto), especially when the car's not fully warmed up. after i warm it up it gets better, but still feels really jerky going into 2nd gear. power seems fine.

Thats how it is. This comes up over and over again - that's just the way a lot of the 4th Gens shift.

It's normal - and it's a good thing. It's better than a 4cyl. 'slip'; where you don't notice any difference between gears. I think you can get kits which actually increase that jerky feeling - which is a good thing, because it decreases power loss // faster switching ( or something positive like that )

I beg to differ. My Max always shifted so smoothly. When it started shifting hard between first and second I figured the clutches were going out in the auto-trans. I went ahead and had the transmission fluid changed along with having the screen cleaned by a transmission shop. The car started shifting like the old days again! Not completely smooth, but I'd say over 90% better.

Then I'm wrong. I'll take notice when I flush my tranny also. I kind of like the violant shift, honestly. It's sort of sporty feeling. But, if it's a negative thing...well that's gonna have to be fixed of course.
