Gauging Intrest on a vented carbon fiber hood for 4th gen

Just seeing who would be intrested in buying a vented hood, Can get these made if 10 people are willing to put down a deposit. it would look similar to this http://www.visracing.com/catalog/pro...04a4e60ca54438 let me know who is interested.

thanks

I love the invader style CF Hood. Especially for the Sylvia any year. I wish they made one the Max. A Max has an invader style hood but it looks very odd.

Actually I think if done righ it would look good on our cars, but overall it would take away from our classy but stylish look and lines.

it would be nice if someone can photoshop one on to give us an idea the invader hood is bad *** not sure on a max but maybe with a skyline kit or something. Even though I am not a fan of the skyline kit.

only vented style hood i like is when there is a small vent (usually triangle shaped) and it is usually on the front left or front right, sometimes over the headlight area. ill see if i can find a pic. other than that im not a fan of invader style hoods, except on a civic, or evo, or some other compact sedan/coupe

I've been looking everywhere for one of those... I have the Skyline body kit and I think it would look great... dunno until I see it though. The only other one I've ever seen is this one...

It's fiberglass but I've always liked carbon fiber better.

I like the ones that have rectangular grilled vents on right and left sides

The Lancer Evolution look?

Vent Detail:

I like the RS style hood vents:

I'd position it right over the drum air filter for the supercharger.

i really like those hoods, but for $650... a bit steep if you ask me. a cf one would be nice cuz then you dont have to worry about painting it.

I might be interested depending on the $$$ involved. Also, are you planning on making these hoods? I would like to see them on a max first.

well i voted maybe because i already have a cf hood.
but with that much more money, i'd rather get a cf trunk.
Looks good, but i think its too much for a maxima.

great ideas

I will talk to the guy and show him this thread. I will see about the price and I need someone to start a list of people that are willing to make a deposit down for the hoods to be made. We also need to pick a hood style we can all agree on. If some one can help with that by posting pics and voting that would help out as well. thanks

this hood http://redlinemax.com/catalog/images...dhoodThumb.jpg in CF would look great on a MAX or the Z-tune skyline hood (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...lr%3D%26sa%3DN, ) would look sick and functional the low pressure generated by the hood can let air flow through the motor .

For our cars, the skyline z-tune hood looks to be too agressive. IMO too many rectangle corners and straight lines when the 4th gen Max is the opposite with all gentle curves and round corners.
See the styling differences?

The EVO hood would be better suited for our cars. Its more tastefully understated for the 4th gen and yet gives an indication of power under the hood when seen by others.

I wouldn't mean it to be exactly like the R34 hood (too many straight edges!), think Maxima OEM hood with a vented Z-top where the vents are slightly curved back (it would be a pretty simple design, i'll try to photoshop it so you get the idea), I'd prefer that design since then the MAX would manage to conserve it's Nissan identity as opposed to trying to mimic the EVO's hood design where it would seem like a car with no personality of it's own, but that's just my $0.02

I would consider one, but the vent needs to be flush with the hood. It should go down, not protrude like those nasty VIS hoods.

you guys should look into nfs underground II, all these hoods and a lot more of them are on the game, just like photoshoping them. Put some of these hoods on an IS 300 and that should give you an estimate on what it would look like.
