rust/ moisture in 2 valves

I did a motor swap last weekend and I see a lot of carbon build ups in the intake manifold and some rust/ moisture in the valves...should i be concern? Its not too much but I could be wrong. Is the carbon build up a measure of a sort that says the motor was abused? How would u in theory look for in a good motor? carbon build is basically cause by poor filtration from the air right?
some input would be much appreciated
thanx
Tay

I don't know about the carbon, it depends on how the motor was treated, if they drove it like a granny then there would be a bit of build up, the rust makes me wonder if at anytime it was hydro locked or if it was a flood salvage.
