Still looking for the perfect exhaust set up.

I have been searching the internet for an hour each night, for the past week. I am still looking for an exhaust where the muffler and tip are near stock looking, I am trying to avoid the shiny mufflers. I just want the average person that doesnt know about Maximas to look and think stock. I want a really low sound too. I am just getting older and my gf and son are getting embarassed with the loud sound.

I was looking at RS-R but I have not been able to get feedback or see pics of them mounted or even hear the sound of it, so it is too much coin to drop for not knowing what I am getting.

If any of you can help me out it would be appreciated. I was thinking of just getting a WSP 2.5" B Pipe with their muffler, whichever I get I want the B Pipe at the same time so the tip sits nice and straight.

Thanks in advance.

No offense to anyone, cause I remember hearing the sound on Brian Vs supercharged 97 and it was sweet, but isnt the ApexWS and "ricer looking" muffler?

greddy sp2. not loud at all during cruising, and deep tone between 1.5k-3k. muffler is 4.5" which is not too big or small, and it's not rice at all.

i am in the same boat,.... looking for a nice exhaust but dont want it looking like a civic or sounding like one.. want it to look basicly stock, and have a nice low rumble or growl to it.. i am looking at getting from the y pipe-back all replaced.

warpspeed ypipe, and maybe there bpipe and res, high flow cat and need a good muffler and tip to make it look stock

Dynomax super turbo, looks stock from the outside, doesnt sound stock. Very deep and it starts to quiet down after 3500rpm or so.

IMHO go with the Greddy Sp catback.... you wont even know its there unless your radio is off and you have all the windows rolled up.

I have the warpspeed and it has never remotely made that sound.

I had the warspeed y - high flow cat - magnaflow res- 2.5'' bpipe - magnaflow muffler~ this muffler looked stock, but has a very low tone to it and you couldn't hear it after 3.5 because the intake would drown it out. Very good setup.

i really don't think you have have slients without performance. They kinda go hand in hand. I've found that a nice setup to have is to go to a good muffler shop and have them custom make you one. My friend got it done. pretty fair prices, stock looking but its black instead of shinny steel. But the performance is there.

anyone have anything to say good or bad about the OBX catback for 95-96? i'm looking at either the OBX or budget/custom 2.5" B-pipe with Dynomax super turbo muffler. please critique my choice as you see fit. looking for lower throatier tone.

(for reference, i have Budget Y and stock cat)

I didn't think RS-R had an application for Maximas? I've heard RS-R ExMags dont give the best gains but if you want near stock quiet and stock looks theyre the way to go.

its a universal application..

Just go back to stock donald.. the car is just a daily driver, besides you won't loose much by going back to stock..

I am going to try and put on a setup that will last a long time. So it would need to handl 3.5 swap or some boost, when I get done with my boat and get around to that.

I think the Magnaflow is more quiet.

I have a 5th gen VC muffler for my 3rd gen. I am really picky and since the 4th gen came with a single tip stock, I want to stick to a single stock looking tip, to fit nicely in the bumper hole.

Donald have you seen the cattman b pipe? or any of their exhaust systems? Quality is top notch. When will you be getting ready to boost the 4th gen? I don't think any time soon, so why not stick with OEM?

wrong

WSP Superflo Y-Pipe, RT Cat, WSP B-pipe and magnaflow resonator, Stillen muffler. One of the quietest, smoothest, best sounding setups ive heard. (when my exhaust isnt leaking)

By Stillen muffler you mean Magnaflow? I think that is what I have. It was purchased at Stillens open house with a Stillen tip that is very rice...I could probably live with the muffler, if the tip was changed. hmmm...

I am thinking like $200 for just the b pipe.

3" is overkill IMO. I am going 2.5" and when I add more power just get a cutout.

I hate reading these exhaust posts. It makes me sad because I can't drive my Maxima until my Greddy SP2 comes and I install it. Which will be either tomorrow or Friday. BOOOOHOOOHOO
